Dear Members and Friends of Old South Haven Church,

Please join us this coming Sunday, June 19, 2022, at 10:30 AM, for a live and virtual Church Service.  The details for joining the Zoom service are below.  The Bulletin and List of Joys and Concerns are attached.  Pastor Glorya's sermon topic is:  "Ford, Ferrari, and Faith."  Please note that the verses were omitted from one of the Bible readings listed in the Bulletin.  It should read:  Galations 3: 23-29.

I look forward to seeing you on Sunday and hope you will stay after church for the picnic.

Linda

Hello all,
Please join us after church this Sunday for a simple picnic in honor of Sunday School kids, Fathers and Juneteenth!
Beverages and sandwiches provided, please bring a salad or something for dessert.  The weather should be lovely!  Maybe bring a sunhat and shades!
Hope to see you there
Darcy Stevens

Juneteenth commemorates the date—June 19, 1865, two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation and two months after the end of the Civil War—when hundreds of thousands of enslaved men and women in Texas finally learned they had been freed.

Juneteenth is an important milestone in American culture. It represents resistance, resilience, and Black Joy, which we'll talk more about soon. First, let's get to the real story behind Juneteenth because it's a story that's not told nearly enough.

The 225th General Assembly, whichbegan June 17, intends to have its "Juneteenth Worship" on Sunday.

You can learn about Juneteenth here: https://youtu.be/6FX-Iisvrj8 (Dr. Karlos K. Hill, historian, University of Oklahoma, explains "Juneteenth")

       It's a new federal holiday.
