This Week at Old South Haven Church

Beginning with this Sunday we enter the most significant week in the Church Year. Holy Week presents the major themes of our Faith and the events that call them into being: Palm Sunday which proclaims Jesus as the Prince of Peace; Maundy Thursday when in the setting of the observance of the Passover Seder the story of the Israelites culminates with Jesus preparing his disciples for the sacrifice of his own life at the hands of the political authorities and religious authorities of that day; Good Friday as we witness his death even while he forgives those who brought him to this end; Holy Saturday and the desperation experienced by those who "thought he was the one to redeem Israel"; culminating in the great affirmation of Easter: "he is risen; alive forever more" to those in whom he lives his life, committed to his life and message of justice, freedom, and the Kingdom still to reach its fruition.
Come and experience "The greatest story ever told, the greatest life ever lived, the greatest affirmation ever made; the greatest mandate ever given." May you resonate with this drama and find in it your own purpose and direction in life.
