This Week At Old South Haven Presbyterian Church
Thank you. Thank you. To all who were involved in celebrating my 50th Anniversary of Ordination I want you to know of my deep appreciation. It is always a risky business of naming a few and then neglecting others, but I must single out the following: Mark and the Choir for the music during worship (one guest assumed we had a large choir. We are so blessed not only with good voices but also good acoustics). Daryl Jordan who moved me to tears in singing the Prayer of St. Francis which was sung at my ordination and again at my 25th and expresses my personal prayer; Peggy Angus, who accompanied Daryl, and led worshippers in singing my favorite hymn, "Great Is Thy Faithfulness; to Debbie Mayo and Diane Hall for floral pieces; to Linda Majowka who was the gracious hostess at the celebration party, opening up her home for us; to Darcy Stevens who sorted through pictures and made the attractive display; to Sean who oversaw the entire operation and captured the spirit of 1962 with his display and also bought the cake; to Kappy Tilney who put in many hours organizing and getting things ready; to John Deitz who captured the event on film now available at our church website; and Richard Thomas who put together an unbelievable history of my family tracing it back to well over 100 years ago; to guests coming from as far away as Levittown, Bellmore, Smithtown and Port Jefferson as well as friends from the daily coffee group meeting at the Bistro. Truly a wonderful day.
