Pastor Tom leaves after Morning Worship for study leave, attending the 2012 Global Conference of Chaplains, at Yale University, June 24-June 29. Campus Ministers and College Chaplains from around the world will be attending.
Session Actions (from meeting of May 21
- Not hold the annual church picnic this year because of the Church Reception for Pastor Tom the following week.
- May 27: last Sunday for Church School before Summer Break.
- Commence Church School in September and operate for three quarters of the year with one of three teachers responsible for a quarter.
- Approved switching our oil contract to Swezy’s
- Approved a request from The Becker Gambles Committee to use the church for another recital on April 27, 2013.
- Hear a report from the Peace Essay readers that they have chosen a winning essay, and if the student is available to schedule the reading of the essay and awarding the prize on Sunday, June 10.
- Heard a report from Mission/Outreach that each of the local missions we support will be described, one at a time, in the issues of our NEWSletter beginning with Thursday’s Child.
- Next issue (the summer issue) of the NEWSletter will be published at the end of June. Articles are now being received.
