In the ecclesiastical year of the Roman Catholic Church, there are two periods of Ordinary Time, the time between Baptism of the Lord Sunday and Lent, and the much longer time between Eastertide and Advent.  Our Revised Common Lectionary, however, ignores the first period, and calls this Sunday, "the Second Sunday After the Epiphany," but the liturgical color does go back to green—the color of ordinary time.
Our bookmarks have different symbols embroidered on them.  The green one has the Christogram IHS, the first three letters of the name Jesus (iota eta sigma) as spelled in Greek.
So today, we change the white bookmark to the green. [R. Thomas]
