This Week At Old South Haven Presbyterian Church
On August 28, 1963 Martin Luther King, Jr. deliver his “I Have a Dream” speech at the March on Washington. Time Magazine in its current issue writes “The speech had established him as the moral leader of the nation.” I was privileged to be at the mall that day and with the thousands of others was greatly moved by it. I returned to the Mall for the 25th anniversary of that speech.
Recently a movie was released and is now playing in many Long Island theaters, including Mastic, that views the whole struggle for civil rights for Blacks through the eyes of a White House butler. It is titled “The Butler”. I saw it. I was deeply moved by it. I highly recommend it.
