This Week At Old South Haven Presbyterian Church

                             HAPPY THANKSGIVING

I cherish Thanksgiving because of its emphasis on expressing gratitude. (Yes, I know that for many it is day to overstuff yourself on all that food prepared for this particular celebration, but most dinners begin with a prayer of thanks).  From the very beginning of its observance (and there was no abundance of food then) it has been marked by an acknowledgment of our dependence on God Almighty, the good earth, and other people. For many it is the opportunity to gather with family and friends and grateful for their presence in our lives. C.S. Lewis observed that grateful people are emotionally healthy people. I wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving.
