The focus each year on the 2nd Sunday of January is on the Baptism of the Lord taking place just prior to Jesus commencing his ministry. Pastor Tom this Sunday, however, will focus on the story in Acts when “certain disciples” received “the baptism of the Spirit” which for some today is a warrant for a second baptism. This has led to a controversy through the centuries over second baptisms.
