Worship Service Returns to Church July 4, 2020
June 22, 2021
Dear Friends,
It's going to happen!!! We'll be re-opening the church on July 4th. So, I wanted to share with you the decisions made by the Session at their meeting Monday evening with regard to re-opening.
First of all, the session has approved a change of time for the Service of Worship from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Bulletins and hymns will still be sent to you. Currently we cannot putout bulletins nor place hymnals and Bibles in the pews. So, if you have a personal copy of the hymnal or a Bible you wish to consult during the service, bring it and your bulletin with you.
One thing zoom services has done for us is bring us together. Thus, Ken, Sandy, Richard, John and I have been working on an effective way of continuing to provide the service for those unable to be with us physically. While we hope all goes smoothly, technology does have its periodic ups and downs. Prayers welcome!
Fortunately, since so many of us are now vaccinated many of the previous COVID-19 restrictions have now been lifted. So, here's what you can expect when you come to worship next week:
-You will enter the building through the front door where you'll be greeted and your name will be recorded for contact tracing, if needed.
-Masks will not be required for those fully vaccinated. However, if you are unvaccinated you are asked to please continue to wear a mask. They will be available at the door should you forget yours.
-A section of the sanctuary will be reserved for those who wish to maintain social distancing as well as an area for vaccinated and those unvaccinated. Looking toward the pulpit, vaccinated individuals sit on the left and unvaccinated on the right.
-July 4th is the first Sunday of the month and thus a day we celebrate the Lord's Supper. You have a choice: either bring your own elements (bread and juice) or pick up a commercially pre-filled waffer/juice container at the door. A wastebasket will be available at the door for disposal of the container.
-With regard to singing…. it is suggested that you wear your mask (vaccinated or unvaccinated) while singing.
-Following the service, we hope to gather outside. Bring your coffee cup. Coffee/tea will be available. Refreshments will be provided.
These decisions were made as we tried to take into account the variety of rules that have taken place over the last year and a half. Thank you for your understanding as we proceed to re-open our doors.
Personally, I'm so looking forward to seeing you in person. See you on the 4th.
Shalom,
Glorya
